New Demo Showcases How Enterprise Systems Can Leverage Hedera Public Mainnet To Stay in Synch with Google Sheets

London, UK and Dallas, TX — August 27, 2020 — LimeChain today announced that it has open-sourced an integration framework to use the Hedera public mainnet for data verification, without sensitive or unwanted information being made public on the network. This allows multiple entities to privately verify that their databases or systems share the same records. A demonstration of this framework highlights the use of the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) to keep records in sync across Google Sheets and Microsoft 365.

Many companies still use spreadsheets to keep track of critical business transactions, such as contracts and purchase orders. At the same time, larger supply chain actors work with a wide array of smaller, specialized providers, who rarely have a business solution in place that can coordinate with their larger partners.

Failure to properly synchronize ERP, CRM, and other internal systems of record between organizations can result in disputes, lost inventory, inflated capital costs, regulatory actions, and other value leakages. To avoid these problems, systems need a common frame of reference, an integration layer that typically only the largest partnerships can afford. LimeChain now offers organizations a way to use the public Hedera mainnet as its common frame of reference. The Hedera network is always on, companies can’t be locked out, and firms only pay for what they use.

“Blockchain and DLT continue to help level the playing field for companies of all sizes to participate in shared economies,” said George Spasov, Blockchain Architect and Co-founder of Limechain. “Unlike with other integration frameworks, leveraging Hedera Consensus Service for this proof of concept was incredibly easy. We're excited about the possibilities that HCS opens up for us, working with other customers that will need to verify data across disparate systems.”

“LimeChain’s approach creates benefits for both bigger companies already using ERP, and smaller companies using spreadsheets as a business tool, allowing both to easily engage with each other,” said Lionel Chocron, Chief Product Officer of Hedera Hashgraph. “We congratulate them on this integration and look forward to working with organizations large and small to leverage this offering to more efficiently and accurately communicate across organizations and workflows.”
